Cobbler's Lasts in Ibadan Cafe Night

Warm candlelight pools across a rough-hewn workbench, illuminating a pair of worn beechwood cobbler's lasts. The wood grain shows deep scratches and smooth patches from years of use. Behind the tools, the dark interior of a cafe in Ibadan fades into quiet shadows along the walls. The wet season hangs heavy outside, though only the stillness inside is visible. One candle flickers nearby, casting long, soft shadows that stretch across the bench surface. The light catches the rounded toe of the left last, highlighting the texture of the aged timber against the dark, empty space surrounding the objects. No people move in the frame, leaving the tools as the sole witnesses to the late hour.
