Sunlight floods the narrow cobblestone alley of Trastevere, illuminating a cluster of bright red plastic stools stacked outside a family-run trattoria. A young waiter in a white apron balances a heavy ceramic plate loaded with fresh basil and mozzarella, stepping carefully over the uneven stone pavers. Behind him, a wrought-iron balcony is draped with a vibrant bougainvillea vine, its magenta flowers spilling over the railing. A small terrier waits patiently by the doorway, its fur catching the hard morning light.
