Boy on Lagos Dock with Tall Fishing Rod

Copper-toned light washes over a young boy standing at the edge of a wooden dock in Ikoyi, Lagos. He holds a fishing rod that towers well above his head, its tip curving slightly against the heavy, gray overcast sky. The dry season air is still, visible only in the flat, amber glow reflecting off the calm water below. Rough planks of the pier show weathered grain and salt stains, running horizontally beneath his worn sneakers. The boy's posture is relaxed, his grip firm on the rod's handle. Behind him, the distant shoreline blends into the haze, while the heavy clouds press low, casting a soft, diffused shadow across his face. The rod's line disappears into the dark water, anchored by the weight of the bobber.
