Boy with Fishing Rod at Athens Dock

Deep shadow swallows the lower half of a boy standing on a stone pier in Kolonaki, Athens. A slender fishing rod extends well above his head, its tip catching a sharp rim of blue twilight against the foggy evening air. The boy wears a light summer shirt, the fabric soft and worn at the cuffs. Behind him, the blurred geometry of the square's stone steps and distant street lamps fades into the haze. His face is partially obscured by the low angle of the light, highlighting the texture of his skin and the quiet focus in his eyes. The rod's line hangs straight down, disappearing into the dark water below. A faint reflection of the sky shimmers on the wet surface of the dock stones near his feet.
