Golden firelight warmth bathes the marsh edge near Tabou as a biologist in field gear leans forward with a net. Fine rain mist hangs in the air, catching the low sun and creating a shimmering haze over the wet reeds. The person holds the net steady, eyes focused on the vegetation where dry season grasses stand brittle against the damp ground. Several specimen envelopes rest on a nearby log, their paper edges slightly softened by the drizzle. The shallow depth of field blurs the distant water line, keeping attention on the methodical hand movements and the texture of the wet netting mesh. One droplet rests on the rim of the nearest envelope.
