Backlit Kiwi Cross Section on Salt Crystals

Warm golden light pierces a circular slice of kiwi fruit, revealing the starburst pattern of black seeds and the gradient from emerald green flesh to the pale yellow core. The fruit rests directly atop a cluster of coarse, translucent salt crystals lining the curved rim of a shallow pan. Sunlight falls through the translucent pulp, making the interior glow with jewel-like intensity against the cooler, shadowed corners of the room. The rough, crystalline texture of the salt contrasts sharply with the soft, moist surface of the fruit. One ray of late summer sun catches the edge of the salt, creating a sharp, bright highlight that defines the boundary between the organic subject and the mineral substrate.
