Astronomer Calibrates Telescope on Henan Platform

Clean laboratory light washes over a wind-scoured research platform in Henan, illuminating crisp metallic surfaces of a large telescope. A figure in a heavy late-summer coat stands beside the instrument, hands adjusting a precision calibration dial on the cold tube. Low-hanging clouds press against the horizon, casting soft shadows across the concrete floor. Converging lines of the platform railing and support beams draw toward the vanishing point where the sky meets the distant landscape. The metal housing reflects the clear late-afternoon sun, highlighting fine dust particles settling on the gear mechanisms. A small red indicator light glows steadily on the control panel, marking the active state of the equipment against the vast gray sky.
