Artisan Workspace in Naples
by Jenna DeLeon
Winter noon light cuts sharply through the narrow alley of Naples, illuminating a street-side artisan’s workspace cluttered with the tools of his trade. A dented metal rim of a large mixing bowl catches a harsh, bright glint, sitting beside a worn wooden flute and a stack of yellowed books used as a makeshift level. Red lacquered wood from a nearby shutter frames the left edge, against the gray stone pavement. The artisan’s hands are not visible, but his presence is felt in the organized chaos of a desk brush resting on a pile of invoices and a small alarm clock ticking silently among the materials.
