Cluttered Workbench in Naples

An artisan’s workbench in a narrow Naples workshop is cluttered with the tools of his trade, lit by the flat, diffuse light of an overcast midday. A worn leather apron hangs nearby, its creased panels catching the soft ambient glow, while a rusted colander rests upside down beside a stack of blue plastic tool caddies. Dried drips of enamel stain the white surface, marking years of repair work. In the background, a glimpse of the street reveals the vibrant, peeling paint of a traditional Neapolitan shutter, against the muted tones of the interior.
