Aerial Braided Delta Meeting Sea at Twilight in above dune fields and dry wadis in British Columbia

Aerial Braided Delta Meeting Sea at Twilight

by Geraldine Harding

Golden hour light reflects off the intricate network of braided river channels as they fan out across the coastal plain. The waterways carve distinct paths through the dry, tan wadis and sand dunes of British Columbia, creating a complex geometric pattern against the arid earth. Layers of depth recede toward the horizon where a soft sea haze blurs the meeting point of river and ocean. In the upper distance, the first faint points of city lights begin to glow against the deepening blue sky. The texture of the dry ground contrasts with the smooth, mirror-like surface of the water, highlighting the cartographic clarity of the delta's structure. One sand dune ridge casts a long, sharp shadow across the lower channel bank.
