A worn leather basketball rests on a wet concrete ledge in a Beijing courtyard, its surface glistening with fresh raindrops under the pale morning light. The orange hue of the ball contrasts sharply with the grey, damp stone, while water droplets rest on the deep grooves of its textured rubber skin. Beside the ball, a puddle reflects the muted sky, revealing the darkened grout lines of the surrounding pavement tiles. One drop slides down the curved side of the ball, highlighting the wear and tear on its surface.
