A weathered bicycle leans against the rough, peeling white plaster of a traditional Beijing courtyard wall. The bright late morning sun casts sharp, distinct shadows across the rusted chain and faded blue paint of the frame. A small cluster of dried flowers rests precariously in the front wire basket, their brittle brown stems against the metal grid. A red lantern hangs nearby, its fabric fluttering slightly in the gentle morning breeze.
