A wooden garden rake rests against the weathered white brick wall of a Melbourne terrace, its tines catching the last warm light of a summer evening. The rusted metal teeth show signs of heavy use, against the smooth, painted masonry that defines the city's historic housing stock. Beside the tool, a terracotta pot holds a struggling succulent, its fleshy leaves glowing orange in the fading sun. Dust motes dance in the air near the rake handle, highlighting the texture of the aged wood and the roughness of the brick surface.
