Woodblock Carver in Ankara Temple Courtyard

Late afternoon sun floods the stone courtyard of an Ankara temple, casting sharp shadows across weathered pavement where a printmaker works. The artisan, seated on a low wooden stool, grips a chisel against a dark inked plate. Beside the work surface, a small clay bowl emits a soft, internal amber glow that illuminates the surrounding dust motes and the wood grain of the table without any visible flame or bulb. Low-hanging clouds diffuse the tropical brightness above, creating a soft contrast against the deep shadows of the temple arches. The turn of seasons is visible in the sparse, golden leaves scattered on the ground. The glow from the bowl reflects in the polished metal of the carving tool, ending in a precise line of light along the chisel's edge.
