Wind Swept Reservoir Tower Over Lome Interchange

by Daniela Rosales

Low-hanging gray clouds press down on a concrete reservoir intake tower rising from a vast wet-season landscape. Below, the tangled geometry of an overpass interchange in Lome weaves through the frame, its asphalt surfaces dark with moisture. The late morning light cuts sharply across the engineering structures, defining every concrete edge and steel railing without softening the harsh angles. Wind whips through the open spaces between the roadways, distorting the surface of the water visible near the tower base. The massive cylindrical form of the intake stands in stark contrast to the curving ramps of the interchange, creating a visual rhythm of straight lines against sweeping curves. One shadow falls across the wet pavement, showing the scale of the infrastructure against the sky.
