Water Droplets on Fresh Paint Window Krakow

by Robyn Ryan

Tiny, jewel-like spheres of condensation cling to a surface of wet, pale green paint along a frost-rimmed windowpane. The glass edge shows a delicate crust of ice crystals against the cool morning air. Soft interior lamp light reflects off the curved tops of the droplets, creating bright, white highlights that contrast with the dim, shadowed corners of the room. Outside, the blurred glow of early evening city lights falls through the misty glass, casting faint orange and yellow streaks across the wet surface. The paint remains unbroken, its sheen interrupted only by the perfect geometry of the water beads. One droplet at the bottom edge begins to stretch, threatening to merge with the one below it.
