Volcanic Hot Lake Dawn Shadow Rim Light

Steam rises in thick white plumes from the dark surface of a volcanic hot lake near Bogotá, curling upward into the cool morning air. Low-hanging clouds press down on the rim, softening the horizon line while deep shadows swallow the foreground slopes. A thin band of rim light catches the edges of the rising vapor, turning the steam into glowing ribbons against the grey sky. The water remains still, reflecting the muted blue-grey tones of the overcast dawn. Moss rests on the wet rocks along the shore, their textures sharp and damp. A faint orange glow lingers in the lowest cloud layer, just above the water's edge.
