The spiral tracks reflect a soft, cool light that contrasts with the warm, yellow glow of a nearby lamp settling into the corner shadows. Tiny droplets of moisture rest on the record's edge and the textured moss. The lichen displays patches of pale green and gray against the dark, organic wood grain. The record's glossy surface catches the morning rays, creating bright, thin highlights along the ridges while the deeper valleys remain in deep shadow. One reflection of the lamp's flame flickers in the lower right groove, anchoring the intimate scale of the discovery.
