Victoria Crowned Pigeon Struts Kenya Dawn

Soft, diffused morning light bathes the wet grasslands of Kenya as a massive Victoria crowned pigeon moves with deliberate purpose across the frame. Its slate-blue plumage gleams with a faint violet sheen, while the intricate lacy crest on its head stands erect against the whipping wind. Feathers ruffle along the neck and wings, revealing the bird's alert posture. The background dissolves into a blur of muted greens and browns, isolating the subject's sharp, pale eyes and powerful grey legs. Droplets of dew rest on the bent grass stalks, catching the pale light as the wind pushes them flat against the soil. One feather trembles on the ground near the bird's foot.
