Honeyed evening light floods the reflective surface of Victoria's public plaza, silhouetting an open textile drawer. Narrow strips of coarse tweed rest in parallel rows, their rough textures catching the low sun as fine fibers and steam rise visibly from the fabric. Hand-labeled tabs with faded ink stand upright against the dark interior of the drawer, marking specific wool blends. The glass of the plaza mirrors the sky, doubling the golden glow that outlines the drawer's edges. Dust motes swirl in the backlight, suspended in the cold early winter air. One fiber rests on the corner of a tweed strip, catching the last ray of daylight before the shadows deepen.
