Surreal Drawer Pull in Amber Workshop Light
by Ralph Zuniga
Cool metal textures dominate this tight close-up of a drawer pull mounted on a workshop wall panel. The object sits on a painted display ledge, its surface marked by heavy use-wear and scratches that catch the rich amber sunset light. Condensation beads visibly on nearby glass, adding a sharp, wet texture against the dry, copper-toned air of the season. The lighting creates a bold contrast between the glowing metal and the deep shadows. In a deliberate break from physics, the shadows cast by the pull and the ledge extend backward, pointing directly toward the light source rather than away from it. The impossible geometry remains static and matter-of-fact, at the base of the impossible angle in the tangible reality of the worn metal and the condensation droplets. one drop of water rests on the lower edge of the glass pane.
