The light catches the deep pile of cream boucle and the fuzzy halo of pale mohair, while a strip of coated canvas reflects a sharp, cool gleam. Low-hanging gray clouds outside the window soften the golden hour glow, casting long, directional shadows that define the rough texture of the wool against the smooth, plastic-like sheen of the coated material. Dust motes drift in the beam, settling on the edges of the rectangular fabric samples. The arrangement shows a tactile control of contrasting surfaces, with at the edge being a frayed thread hanging from the corner of the mohair swatch.
