Tibetan Monks Blowing Horns in Hague Evening

Deep shadows swallow the foreground where Tibetan monks stand at the frame's edge against the blue twilight of a midsummer evening in The Hague. Rim light catches the curved brass surfaces of their long horns, creating thin, bright edges that separate the figures from the dark surroundings. Dust particles hang low and still in the air above the pavement, illuminated faintly by the fading natural light. The monks wear traditional maroon robes that appear almost black in the gloom, their postures rigid and focused. Behind them, the faint, blurred outlines of Dutch architecture fade into the night sky. One beam of light reflects off the polished metal mouthpiece of the nearest horn, at the base of the moment in physical reality.
