Cool blue twilight settles over a rocky saddle near Lhasa, where three musicians stand in a wide panoramic line against the darkening sky. The brass alphorns stretch horizontally, their curved bells catching the last faint light of midsummer. Low-hanging clouds drape the valley below, obscuring the steep slopes and creating a soft, gray depth beneath the figures. Distant city lights begin to glow in the valley floor, appearing as scattered amber dots against the deepening blue. The musicians wear heavy woolen garments suited for the altitude, their forms silhouetted against the fading horizon. The rough texture of the granite saddle contrasts with the smooth, metallic sheen of the instruments. One horn bell reflects the first star of the evening sky.
