Terracotta Bowl in Santa Fe

A small terracotta bowl sits on the rough-hewn adobe sill of a Santa Fe window, catching the soft, diffused light of early morning. Rain has left the clay surface damp and dark, against the pale, textured plaster of the wall behind it. Beyond the glass, the faint outline of the Sangre de Cristo mountains emerges from the lingering mist, at the base of the scene in its high desert location. One droplet rests on the rim of the bowl, refracting the gray light of the overcast sky.
