Window Box in Santa Fe

A small window box rests on the rough stucco ledge of a traditional adobe wall in Santa Fe, catching the first golden rays of the morning sun. Fresh green basil and rosemary sprigs push through the dark soil, their leaves glistening with morning dew under the brightening sky. The terracotta rim of the planter shows signs of weathering, against the smooth, earthy texture of the surrounding clay plaster. One drop of water hangs from the tip of a basil leaf, refracting the pale blue of the early dawn.
