A weathered wooden flute rests on the rough-hewn sill of a adobe window, its surface catching the pale, diffused light of a misty dawn in Santa Fe. The instrument's dark grain contrasts with the soft pink hue of the stucco wall, where water droplets from the morning fog rest on the carved key mechanisms. Beyond the narrow ledge, the blurred outline of a pine tree emerges from the heavy white mist that blankets the courtyard below. One brass tuning slide reflects the faint, cool glow of the early morning sky.
