The deep indigo of Penang’s blue hour settles over a narrow shophouse alley, where warm tungsten light spills from an open ground-floor workshop. Inside, an elderly man in a faded singlet sits at a scarred wooden table, his hands moving with practiced precision over a stack of white porcelain cups and saucers. The light catches the rim of a chipped teacup, revealing faint tea stains that map years of use, while a small, unglazed terracotta bowl sits nearby, holding dried tea leaves. Outside, the damp pavement reflects the cool ambient glow, against the intimate, yellow warmth of the interior.
