Survey Point on Wanaka Scaffold at Blue Hour

Early winter fog rests on the damp steel framework rising along the Wanaka facade. A brass survey point mounted on a concrete base anchors the foreground, its metal surface reflecting the faint blue twilight. Deep shadows swallow the lower scaffold levels while a thin rim of cool light traces the upper crossbars against the darkening sky. The converging lines of the scaffolding poles draw toward a vanishing point lost in the mist. Construction markers and safety netting hang in rigid rows, their colors muted by the low light. The ground beneath is wet concrete, showing faint reflections of the overhead grid. A red warning tape stretches taut across the base, marking the boundary of the active work zone.
