Surreal Fruit Sky Above Castile Fortress Ruin
Copper-toned light washes over the roofless stone walls of an abandoned hammam ruin perched above a churning estuary. Inside the open-air structure, rough masonry and curved arches stand in sharp silhouette against the gathering twilight. The midsummer air holds the stillness of a storm just passing, leaving the water below dark and textured with whitecaps. Dominating the empty space where a ceiling should be, a dense layer of giant, floating citrus fruits and brass lanterns hangs suspended in the sky. These massive spheres and glowing orbs hover at varying heights, casting long, distorted shadows across the interior floor. The impossible sky contrasts with the grounded, weathered texture of the ancient stone, creating a scene of elegant abandonment where the horizon dissolves into a canopy of oversized produce.
