Surfer Paddling at Dawn Monsoon Mexico City

First light of dawn fractures across the choppy water as a surfer paddles hard through the breaking wave. Wind whips the water surface into white spray that rests on the dark wetsuit. The tight framing isolates the athlete's extended arms and the rhythmic motion of the board cutting through the monsoon swell. Behind the rider, the gray horizon meets the pale sky, while distant roadside structures blur into the morning haze. Water droplets hang suspended in the air, catching the golden sunrise rays that illuminate the texture of the wet neoprene and the frothy crest of the wave crashing nearby. at the edge is one drop of water falling from the nose of the board.
