Superb Starling Silhouette at Dawn

Pale gold sunlight spills across a wind-scoured ridge in early autumn, illuminating a thick layer of dust hovering just above the dry grass. A superb starling stands in sharp silhouette against the brightening sky, its iridescent plumage hidden in shadow while the light outlines its sleek form. The bird remains perfectly still, a patient predator frozen in the first rays of sunrise. Behind it, the horizon glows with soft orange and pink tones that fade into the cool blue of the morning. Individual blades of grass bend slightly under the morning breeze, at the base of the figure in the rugged Bavarian landscape. The dust particles catch the low light, creating a hazy curtain between the bird and the earth.
