Sun Bear Climbs Dipterocarp Ridge at Sunset

Orange light spills across a wind-scoured ridge near Irbid, striking the rough bark of a dipterocarp tree. A sun bear grips the trunk with claws dug deep into the wood, its dark fur absorbing the low-angle glow. Early spring grasses and scattered stones lie beneath the tree, damp from the clearing storm. The perspective looks up from the ground, placing the bear high against the fading sky. Green shoots push through the rocky soil beside the trunk. A drop of honey hangs from a lower branch, reflecting the sunset.
