Sun Bear Climbs Dipterocarp for Honey Near Suzhou
Thick mist rests on the humid air beside a tidal inlet, softening the hard coastal glare of late afternoon. A sun bear grips the rough, textured bark of a towering dipterocarp trunk, its dark fur contrasting against the pale, mist-washed sky. The bear's claws dig deep into the grooved wood as it reaches upward toward a hidden honeycomb. Sunlight breaks through the haze, illuminating dust motes and the glossy sheen on the animal's coat.
