Sugarcane patchwork aerial Peru sunset

by Levi Chung

Orange low-angle sunlight strikes a vast grid of sugarcane fields, creating a sharp mosaic of emerald and lime green blocks. These cultivated rows sit atop dry, tan dune fields and winding wadis that stretch toward the horizon. Deep valleys below are filled with a thick layer of white ground fog, obscuring the terrain and creating a stark separation between the bright crops and the shadowed lowlands. The wet season moisture keeps the cane lush and vibrant against the arid desert backdrop. From this birds-eye perspective, the geometric precision of the agriculture contrasts with the organic curves of the dunes. A distinct shadow line falls across the furthest field edge, marking the exact boundary where the orange light ends.
