Sufi Musician Plays Ney Flute in Delft Hall

Cool blue twilight washes the interior of the Delft concert hall, casting long shadows across the polished wooden floor. A Sufi musician stands near the stage edge, eyes closed, holding a reed ney flute to his lips. His simple, light summer clothing contrasts with the deep indigo of the low-hanging clouds visible through the high arched windows. The city lights outside begin to glow in warm amber streaks, reflecting softly on the glass panes. Dust motes hang still in the shafts of fading natural light. The musician's hands grip the instrument firmly, knuckles pale against the dark reed. Behind him, the empty velvet seats of the audience area fade into the deepening blue of the early summer evening.
