Stripped Cork Oak Bark After Rain

Soft, diffused light after a rain shower illuminates a cork oak standing near Aba during the dry season. The tree trunk displays a striking contrast where the rough, dark outer bark has been recently stripped, revealing vibrant orange inner layers. Pale ground fog pools in the low-lying depressions around the base, partially obscuring the dry, dusty earth. The wet surface of the remaining bark glistens under the gray sky, while the exposed orange wood appears matte and textured. One dark shadow falls across the lower trunk, at the base of the tree in the misty landscape. The composition places the stripped section prominently in the left third of the frame, drawing attention to the raw texture of the wood.
