Low tungsten light falls through high windows, washing the polished concrete floor of the Lanzhou railway concourse in warm amber tones. Four musicians in dark formal wear stand in a semi-circle, their instruments catching the dim morning illumination. Outside the vast glass panes, heavy monsoon clouds hang low, blurring the sky into a soft gray backdrop. Reflections on the wet, glossy floor create a symmetrical mirror image of the performers and the arched ceiling structure above.
