A local vendor arranges bright red apples and green pears on a wooden crate near the entrance of a small bakery. Steam rises from a metal tiffin tin resting on a nearby windowsill, indicating fresh food preparation. A faded dish towel hangs from a rusted iron hook beside the door. The quiet, lived-in texture of the neighborhood before the crowds arrive, with shadows stretching long across the stone pavement and the warm tones of the building facades beginning to emerge in the early morning glow.
