Mist rests on the narrow alleyway of Plaka, softening the edges of weathered neoclassical facades painted in faded ochre and pale blue. A street vendor’s cart, laden with steaming metal pots and glass-fronted pastry displays, anchors the scene, its steam rising into the damp air. An elderly woman in a dark wool coat leans against the cart, holding a small white cup, her breath visible in the chill. Behind her, a window box overflows with vibrant red geraniums, their petals glistening with moisture. The cobblestones are slick and reflective, mirroring the muted light. A discarded matchbox lies near the cart’s base, its bright red surface a sharp contrast to the gray stone.
