Steam Rising from Taco Cart in Diyarbakir Rain

Thick white vapor curls upward from the open serving window of a mobile taco cart, swirling into the frigid midnight air. The cart sits beside a glass-paneled bus shelter, its windows fogged with condensation that blurs the interior glow. Heavy overcast skies hang low, casting a flat gray light over the wet asphalt. Autumn leaves, brown and brittle, rest on the pavement near the cart's wheels. A sharp rim of light outlines the steam and the metal edges of the cart, separating the subject from the deep shadows of the street corner. Raindrops bead on the shelter's aluminum frame, sliding slowly down the glass. at the edge is a single droplet hanging from the cart's metal awning edge, trembling before falling.
