Predawn Taco Cart at Ramat Gan Tram Stop
by Kristin Noel
Cold moonlight washes the wet pavement in silver tones while a solitary taco cart stands idle at a Ramat Gan tram stop. Drizzle coats the metal serving hatch and the glass display cases, turning the concrete ground into a reflective mirror. Overhead, the mixed glow of streetlamps and distant neon signs casts long, fractured reflections across the slick asphalt. The cart's awning sags slightly under the weight of the damp air, its red and white stripes blurred by the fine mist. One plastic chair sits overturned beside the service window, untouched by the early morning quiet. Water droplets rest on the edge of the metal counter, catching the faint city light before sliding down into the shadows below.
