Spotted Foxglove Bells in Winter Meadow

Water droplets rest on the deep purple bells of a single foxglove spire rising through a dormant meadow near Marseille. The plant stands in sharp focus against a backdrop of muted browns and greys, where winter grasses lie flattened by the light drizzle. Bright midmorning sun pierces the overcast sky, illuminating the white spots inside each hanging flower with a cool, dry intensity. Raindrops scatter across the textured green leaves, creating a glistening surface that contrasts with the matte soil below. The composition places the spire along the right vertical third, balancing the open, wet expanse of the field on the left. One drop slides slowly down the curve of the lowest bell, catching the pale light before falling away.
