Pale gray Spanish moss drapes heavily from the thick, knotted branches of a live oak, its fibrous texture catching a sharp, horizontal band of white light. The beam cuts through a dark, rainy night in Pará, illuminating individual strands that hang in loose, tangled curtains against a backdrop of churning, dramatic storm clouds. Heavy rain streaks vertically through the illuminated zone, creating a shimmering curtain of water droplets that reflect the lighthouse's sweep. The moss sways slightly, its pale fibers against the deep, wet charcoal of the surrounding foliage. one drop of water rests on the tip of a hanging strand, catching the light like a diamond before falling into the darkness below.
