Early summer twilight casts a warm, orange sodium-vapor glow across a circular circus tent in Swansea. A sitar master sits cross-legged on a patterned rug, fingers poised over the instrument's long neck. Spectators sit on the ground in a semi-circle, their faces illuminated by the yellow light. Dramatic clouds fill the sky visible through the tent's open flaps. The wooden floorboards of the tent interior show wear, and colorful bunting hangs from the central pole. The musician's silk kurta reflects the ambient light, while the sitar's brass tuning pegs catch sharp highlights. A shadow stretches from the performer's elbow across the rug's geometric patterns.
