Indigo twilight blankets the New Brunswick vineyard, leaving the trellis rows in deep shadow while a thin rim of residual light outlines the girl's form. She stands between the wooden posts, her silhouette defined against the darkening sky as she extends a hand to the small white kids gathered at her feet. Irrigation water glistens in the furrows, catching the faint ambient glow and creating scattered points of brightness on the damp earth. The early summer vines hang low, their leaves barely visible in the gloom. The girl's posture suggests a pause in labor, a moment of quiet interaction with the young animals. A final beam of light catches the wet surface of the soil, marking the edge of the shadow where the animals huddle.
