Shipwreck Hull Exposed at Low Tide Near Umeda
by Aria Sanchez
Pale first rays of sunrise cut through low-hanging clouds, illuminating the rusted, skeletal remains of a shipwreck hull resting on a wind-scoured sandy ridge. The corroded metal curves rise from the wet sand, their surfaces pitted and orange with oxidation. Early summer greenery rests on the dunes in the background, against the stark gray of the debris. A wooden beam in the foreground creates a natural frame around the decaying vessel, drawing the eye to the intricate texture of flaking paint and salt-encrusted rivets. The cool stillness of the predawn air hangs heavy as the tide recedes, leaving the beach smooth and glistening under the soft, diffused light. at the edge is a small patch of seaweed caught in the jagged edge of the hull, holding the memory of the ocean.
