Serving Customers in Porto
Morning light falls through the high arched windows of a traditional pastelaria, illuminating the busy counter where a baker in a flour-dusted apron slides a tray of golden francesinhas onto a wooden service station. The scene is alive with the steam rising from fresh coffee pots and the gleam of polished brass handles on the espresso machine. A customer in a rain-wet trench coat waits patiently, holding a paper cup, while behind the counter, rows of ceramic measuring cups and a vintage rotary cutter sit idle amidst the morning rush. The wet pavement visible through the glass door reflects the soft, diffused sky, at the base of the warm interior activity in the damp, grey morning of Porto.
