Sea spray hangs heavy in the air, softening the edges of a wooden sampan resting near the harbor mouth. The boat sits low in the water, its varnished hull reflecting the pale, diffused light of early dawn. Mist rests on the surface, obscuring the distant shoreline while revealing the texture of wet wood and coiled ropes. Autumn leaves in shades of russet and gold drift across the still water, caught in the gentle current. Converging lines of the harbor walls guide toward a vanishing point lost in the white fog. The scene holds a quiet solemnity, defined by the cool gray tones of the sky meeting the dark, damp timber of the vessel. One droplet of condensation rolls slowly down the side of the boat's stern.
