Sambar Deer Bellowing in Morning Mist at Gold Coast

Thick, pale mist rests on the water surface of a tidal inlet, obscuring the horizon where the Gold Coast shoreline meets the sky. A massive sambar deer stands in deep shadow along the muddy bank, its dark fur absorbing the low light. A sharp rim of golden sunlight catches the outline of its antlers and the curve of its back, separating it from the gray fog. The animal's mouth is open wide in a bellow, steam visible rising from its throat into the cool air. Green reeds fringe the water's edge, their tips glistening with dew under the clear sky. The scene remains still, save for the deer's posture and the gentle ripples spreading from the inlet.
